PARTNERSHIP IN ACTION

The Living Library at PS 21

Students at PS 21 — Crispus Attucks School performed in The Living Library, an original Arts In Blue production. Over a 12-week residency, students developed skills in acting, dance, and music while building confidence, strengthening communication, and bringing a full script to life. The experience culminated in two performances: a daytime showcase for peers and staff, and an evening performance for friends and families.

HOW WE WORK

Every partnership begins with listening

01

Discuss goals and objectives

Meet with our team to talk through the scope of your ideas and the goals you want to reach. We take notes and begin crafting your program.

02

Choose your art form

Explore the art form you would like, and we continue shaping the program around how you imagine it inspiring your school community.

03

Set the schedule

When and where the work happens. This lets us secure artists with the right availability and skill set for your goals.

04

Get to work

Students commit and begin working toward the goals we set together, led by professional teaching artists.

05

Presentation time

After weeks of preparation, students share their work and discoveries with peers, teachers, and families.
